I am humbled, grateful, gobsmacked to be among the artists whose work will be supported by the New Brunswick Arts Board in the coming year. My Creation Grant will support a preliminary workshop production of my new solo show, Les filles du quoi?, which I have been writing and developing during the past two years. This support will make it possible for me to reach out to potential collaborators and move the project off the page and toward a new life in front of an audience. You can read a bit about the play here, and I’ll be sharing much more in the New Year.

James Baldwin said that an artist must cultivate a state of aloneness that most people assiduously avoid. This generous support has helped me to feel substantially less alone for a spell, and I’m so thankful.
